Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information lifafa collects when you use giftlifafa.in, how we use it, and who we share it with. We collect the minimum information needed to send and claim a lifafa.

1. Information we collect

• From senders: your name, optional email, the recipient's name, the gift amount, your personal note, and — if you choose to lock the lifafa — the recipient's mobile number or email, or a secret question and answer.
• From recipients: the UPI ID you enter to claim a gift, and, if the gift is locked, the OTP or secret answer you submit to verify your identity.
• Automatically: basic technical information such as IP address and browser type, used only for fraud prevention and debugging.

We do not collect or store your card number, bank account number, or UPI PIN. Payment details are handled entirely by our payment partner, Cashfree Payments, and never pass through or get stored on lifafa's servers.

2. How we use your information

• To create, deliver, and process your lifafa (payment collection and payout).
• To send one-time passwords for locked lifafas, via SMS, WhatsApp, or email.
• To generate a personalised link preview when you share a claim link.
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Service.

3. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary information with:

• Cashfree Payments — to process the sender's payment and the recipient's UPI payout.
• Twilio / Resend — to deliver OTP codes via SMS, WhatsApp, or email, only when a sender chooses to lock a lifafa.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party, and we do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data retention

We retain gift and transaction records for as long as necessary to comply with applicable law, resolve disputes, and maintain accurate financial records. OTP codes are short-lived and are deleted automatically after they expire.

5. Data security

OTP codes and secret answers are stored in hashed form, never in plain text. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all traffic to and from the Service.

6. Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or request that we delete it (subject to our legal obligation to retain financial transaction records), by writing to support@giftlifafa.in.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
